Beth Fisher & Ava Ma de Sousa met in 2019 while completing Master's degrees in Brain and Cognitive Science at the University of Amsterdam. Minds Matter started as part of UvA's student radio (now Slim Radio).

Beth received her BSc in Biology from New York University, and is now completing her PhD in Philosophy and Psychology at Monash University.

​

Ava received her BSc in Psychology and Cognitive Science from the University of Toronto, and is now completing her PhD in Psychological and Brain Sciences at UC Santa Barbara. 

​
